Atturo Tires and Twice As Nice Mother & Child “Race to Meet the Need” Tire Manufacturer and Racers to make TORC Series in Chicagoland A Charity Event for Diaper Awareness
This weekend at the TORC: The Off Road Championships in Chicago, aka “The Chicagoland Slam,” Atturo Tires will partner with local charity Twice As Nice Mother & Child (www.twiceasnicemc.org ) to raise money for diaper awareness and providing life-giving essentials to newborns. Atturo has dedicated resources to its partner charity for the Chicagoland Slam event under the umbrella campaign “Race to Meet The Need.” (#Race2MeetTheNeed).
Atturo’s partners in the TORC series, Atturo Pro Light class racers Andrew Carlson #151 & Travis Dinsmore #43 will collect donations of diapers, children’s clothing and money during the Chicago race. Dinsmore will add the TANMC logo to his race vehicle.
Atturo will also accept monetary donations at their vendor booth during the race – for every $10 donation, the donor will get a free Atturo t-shirt.
For those who can’t attend the race but still want to help, they can go to the TANMC
website to donate. Then, they can email their donation receipt of at least $10 to email@example.com and Atturo will send them a free t-shirt (include shirt size & mailing address)
The White House recently announced in March 2016 that 1 in 3 families in America struggle to afford diapers. Low income families now spend more than $900 per year on diapers per child. The high cost forces many families to choose between diapers and other bills like food, rent or utilities. Unlike food, there are no federal programs to help pay for the basic necessity of having a baby, so many children are left wanting. This is known as “the Diaper Gap.” Twice As Nice Mother & Child founded by Executive Director Ann Marie Mathis, wife of Atturo President Michael Mathis, has stepped in to help in the Chicago area by distributing over 100k diapers to families in need. As part of the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN), Twice as Nice has been able to identify and help meet the needs of families in the area with clothing, diapers, formula and other life-giving essentials free of charge.
Our “Race to Meet the Need” campaign this weekend is a small part of the overall support we give to Twice as Nice Mother & Child,” said Atturo president Michael Mathis. “We are proud to support and participate in their efforts every year to close the diaper gap and meet the needs of children.
